Dear Parent: Thank you for considering St. Anthony of Padua School for your child’s education. For almost 100 years, St. Anthony School has provided a quality education to the children of the New Orleans area. Throughout this time, our curriculum has developed to include the best and most appropriate educational tools available. From the use of Montessori teaching methods in our Early Childhood Program to our state of the art computer labs, we constantly strive to improve the educational opportunities for our students. The mission of St. Anthony of Padua School is to provide educational excellence according to the Dominican tradition in a multicultural Catholic community with emphasis on Gospel values. Our philosophy is to shape and develop character as well as the mind. This is achieved through the personal and demanding attention of our dedicated faculty. St. Anthony of Padua School has been very successful in its goal of providing students a superior academic program. This was confirmed when St. Anthony of Padua School was awarded the prestigious “triple crown” of education – the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award, the National Distinguished Principal Award, and the Walt Disney Company American Teacher Award. A better measure of our success may be the large number of our graduates who go on to continue their education at the most academically challenging high schools and colleges. St. Anthony of Padua School emphasizes Christian values. Students attend weekly Mass, receive the Sacraments, and participate in prayer services. The students are asked to give hours of service to their home, school, church, and community as part of the Service Project. The total St. Anthony experience fosters individual accountability, self-esteem, and social competence. It is my hope that you will make your child a part of the St. Anthony of Padua School community. Please read the enclosed information regarding our school. Contact us if you have any questions. Sincerely yours in Christ, Sr. Ruth Angelette, O.P. Principal |
